Regulatory Docket

The ability to access and share environmental/regulatory information, whether internal to a company or as part of the activities associated with a environmental consulting firm like WTS, Inc., offers tremendous advances in developing effective environmental management systems.

Today, environmental regulations (state and federal) are changing as fast as they did in the early 1980s. Some of the modifications are providing more flexibility for businesses, including more options for risk-based decision-making during site cleanup and options for waste management that are outside the traditional full hazardous waste management scheme including recycling reuse. WTS, Inc. has devised a series of informative communiqués designed to provide compliance information and regulatory guidance for the proper management, handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Along with these communiqués, WTS is available for any extensive verbal discussion on how theses regulations affect each specific waste management option and client location. These communiqués are available in the following format…just click on the desired link:

Technical Bulletin
comprehensive review and interpretation of recently proposed or promulgated EPA, Department of Transportation (DOT), or OSHA regulations as outlined in the Federal Register (FR). The Technical Bulletin is usually reserved for major rulemakings which will significantly impact the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Technical Brief
a less comprehensive interpretation of recently proposed or promulgated regulations issued by EPA, DOT, or OSHA. Less comprehensive because of minor impact of the regulation on the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. However, further interpretation is available upon request.

Technical Alert
address similar issues as the Bulletins and Briefs but are condensed and are only meant to identify an issue which may not be of interest to every client because of the varied significance and importance. However, as before, further interpretation is available.

Compliance Calendar
summarizes regulatory requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in regard to compliance with various statutes such as the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
